We have several openings 25-32 hours a week for individuals to sell hot dogs, pretzels, and drinks from our "Stanley's Steamers" hot dog carts located in San Francisco's Union Square for the holiday season and possibly beyond.<br><br>

Vendors earn a starting wage of $9.79/hr, plus earn $25-$40 in cash tips daily.<br><br>

If you can also drive our company Ford van making deliveries a couple of shifts a week and/or help us prep food in our commissary, we can offer full-time work and higher pay.<br><br>

The Executive Chef is an ambassador for promoting Ramekins Culinary School within both our local and extended communities. <br>

Position purpose/general duties:<br>
<br>
- Responsible for directing day-to-day operations of cooking school including teaching public and private cooking classes, leading the catering department, overall curriculum and program development, vendor relations, kitchen employee training and management, special event operations, and evaluation and oversight of contract chefs.<br>
- Responsible for driving culinary instruction at Ramekins including teaching a variety of courses each catalog.<br>
-Responsible for evaluating Food and Beverage Trends and being able to react by promoting these trends within the operation, keeping us ahead of the competition.<br>
- Works closely and alongside the Sales and Marketing Director and Food and Beverage Operations Manager in the planning and execution of all Culinary School, Special Events and Inn business. 	<br>
- Responsible for maximizing revenue and minimizing costs.<br>
- Managing inventory of food within budgetary goals.<br>
- Responsible for development of revenue enhancement ideas associated with the Inn, Events Center and Off-Site Catering with the entire culinary department.<br>
- Responsible for all maintenance of kitchen operation equipment within budgetary goals.<br>
- Responsible for compiling all food inventories on a monthly basis.<br>
- Responsible for cost control in both labor and product.<br>
- Responsible for all labor scheduling of kitchen staff for all aspects of the operation.<br>
- Responsible for all culinary aspects of on-site and off-site catering. <br>
- Responsible for developing and maintaining the highest level of service standards<br>
- Development and administration of the department budget.<br>
- Hire, train, manage and terminate Culinary Department staff as needed.<br>
<br>
Minimum experience/education requirements:<br>
	Culinary degree.<br>
	Five years experience in multi-operation hospitality management environment.<br>
	Experienced in catering and off-site catering.<br>
	Experienced in culinary instruction.<br>
	Experienced in customer service and/or event management is preferred.<br>
<br>
Key skills/knowledge required:<br>
	Advanced culinary skills.<br>
	Proven leadership skills.<br>
	Excellent communication skills.<br>
	Comprehensive understanding of budgeting, financial analysis, management skills, cost control.<br>
	Interviewing and training skills; development of personnel.<br>

POSITION SUMMARY<br>

The Food & Beverage Director is responsible for the leadership and overall management of the restaurant, banquets, catering, culinary department and room service operations. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES<br>

Leadership<br>
• Hire, train, supervise, schedule, coach and counsel Food & Beverage team members. <br>
• Ensure that team members comply with tip-reporting requirements, uniform and service guidelines, and other policies and procedures.<br>
• Demonstrate by example the traits and characteristics of an effective coach and leader through hands on teaching and development.<br>
• Promote a culture of training and development within the organization.<br>
• Create and maintain positive working relationships with hotel department heads.<br>
• Develop and follow up on SMART Goals with all managers.<br>
• Facilitate positive pre-shifts and develop the foundation for a world class restaurant.<br>
<br>
Guest/Food Service<br>
• Responsible for guest satisfaction in terms of food and beverage, hospitality and service standards, following proper food handling and safety guidelines.<br>
• Confers with the culinary team and other personnel to plan, establish, and implement menus and related activities, such as dining room, bar, and banquet operations.<br>
• Develops interesting and balanced food menus and beverage selections on a timely basis that are appropriate and responsive to the local market, in close partnership with Executive Chef.<br>
• Ensure the consistent service and menu offerings as well as ensure that the hours of operation are strictly adhered to.<br>
• Monitor and inspect all food and beverage deliveries, ensuring portion controls are adhered to.<br>
• Ensure the delivery and execution of service in the catering functions, restaurant functions, and room service are done with professionalism, planning, and solid execution.<br>
• Follow up on Mindshare, Market Metrix, and Coyle Shoppers in such a way as to improve service and promote service recovery.<br>

Revenue & Financial<br>
• Maintain daily cash controls and financial reporting for department.<br>
• Responsible for the development, implementation and daily follow-up of the F&B marketing plan and sales promotion efforts.<br>
• Meet or exceed sales and profit objectives. Maintain labor, food, and liquor costs at or below budget percentages and controllable costs below budget.<br>
• Input and reconcile invoices. <br>
• Manage monthly food and beverage inventories in a timely and responsible fashion.<br>
• Complete accurate forecasts, declining budgets, budgets, and other financial metrics on time and correctly.<br>
<br>
QUALIFICATIONS:<br>
The ideal candidate will have 2-4 years’ food & beverage experience in a hotel environment.  Excellent leadership skills including strategic thinking, communication, training, team building and mentoring.  Ability to create, plan and implement promotions that increase restaurant and bar revenues.  Complete understanding of financial statements, budgeting and forecasting.  Past experience should demonstrate ability to control costs in order to generate expected profit margins.<br>

•	Acts as liaison and/or chairman on various company committees, task forces and councils.<br>
•	Assists other management team members in the recruiting, hiring, and separation of personnel.<br>
•	Effects contract renewals within area of responsibility to meet budgeted objectives as identified in annual division business plan.<br>
•	In conjunction with Vice President, Northern California, strategize account assignments within area of responsibility and accepts responsibility for same through adherence to implementation schedule and management support of the transition.<br>
•	Manages area budget and approves expenditures for area of responsibility in order to meet financial goals identified in the business plan.  Provides year-end input to division budget and in particular, to those line items controlled or within area of responsibility.<br>
As direct supervisor of Urban Managers and others:<br>
•	Participates in and regulates performance and budget of FOCUS program which includes meeting with each for a structured meeting once per month to review FOCUS, Plug-the-Cracks (PTC), employee issues, account issues, and other, as applicable.<br>
•	Attends Board of Directors meetings, annual meetings and Board orientations with those supervised as needed to evaluate performance, evaluate adherence to current processes & practices, ascertain needs for additional training, and to build a rapport with the existing Board and association members.<br>
•	Performs a detailed review of each person supervised.<br>
•	Performs a review of each community board packet and financial in area of responsibility prior to distribution to the Board to ensure consistency in company products<br>
•	Performs a detailed review of all correspondence being generated to attorneys, developers, and entire membership of any account prior to those communications being mailed.<br>
•	Conducts semi-annual audit of portfolios and minute books of those supervised in accordance with PTC procedures.<br>
•	Oversees, monitors and drives execution of company process in any potential or actual litigation with any association in area of responsibility in cases where either Merit, the association or both are named.<br>
•	Conduct site visit of each building at a minimum of two-week intervals.<br>
•	Participate in the commission schedule and review of common area components and assets as needed.<br>
•	Monitor building budgets to assure that spending is per budget.  If budget is exceeded, ensure disclosure to client through variance reports at board meeting.  Matter is to be documented in meeting minutes.<br>
•	Monitor community financials to assure funds are adequately insured through fidelity bond in accordance with association governing documents.<br>
•	Lead urban function meetings to provide GM interaction and idea sharing.<br>
•	Serve as a lead when management staff is on vacation or absent from work.<br>
•	Accountable for staff execution and implementation of company tools such as LMS, Punchlist Database, FOCUS, and Jenark.<br>
•	Reviews and approves payroll for area of responsibility and submits to payroll department for processing by the prescribed deadline.<br>
•	Coordinates with other employees the set-up of new associations, transitions of existing associations, termination of existing associations within area of responsibility.<br>
•	Fiscal accountability for all new vendor approvals within area of responsibility.<br>
•	As community and industry involvement are important to Merit's business philosophy, participates in at least one outside committee (i.e.:  CAI, CACM, BIA, HBC, Chamber, Rotary, United Way, etc.).<br>
•	Commits to attending all designated company meetings and events as well as supervisor meetings, area of responsibility team meetings, and others that may be promulgated from time to time.  <br>
•	Charged with successfully maintaining CCAM status, which includes completing 30 hours of continuing education every three years.<br>
•	Works collectively with Vice President, Northern California on strategies to effect and implement new company procedures, policy changes, etc.<br>
•	Attendance at targeted trade organizations that focus on urban redevelopment. <br>
•	Assist with nurturing relationships with urban developers/builders to procure marketing and business opportunities to grow the business in the urban market to meet projections identified in the region’s business plan.<br>
•	Responsible for development of urban staff, including ability to train new managers assuming urban management responsibilities.<br>
•	Responsible for analyzing the management of the urban business segment in order to sustain profitability.<br>
•	Some travel required. Occasional nights and weekends may be required.<br>

Job Duties:<br>
Manage day to day operations of the Lounge.<br>
Hire, manage, train retrain and coordinate schedule and work of bartenders and servers.<br>
Monitor product sales and order beverages, food items and supplies.<br>
Meet target cost of goods for the operation as determined by company budgets.<br>
Provide weekly reports of inventory and purchases.<br>
Responsible for proper accounting and recording of all beverage sales while ensuring that the pouring measures are being followed according to standard operating procedures.<br>
Keep accurate inventory and aggressively manage waste, comps, spills and discounts following company policy. Maintain Petty cash and reporting.<br>
Inspect establishment and observe workers and patrons to ensure compliance with occupational, health and safety standards and local alcohol regulations.<br>
Liaise with Event Coordinator to execute, supervise and surpass special events.<br>
Actively work to retain and attract new guests.<br>
Ensure high level of customer service and satisfaction.<br>
Work several bar shifts per week combined of floor and management shifts.<br>

Skills:<br>
<br>
Qualified candidates will have 3 years of bar tending experience in high volume or nightclub setting and have 3 years restaurant/bar management experience. Must have experience with scheduling, inventory management and ordering food and supplies. Must have knowledge of local liquor laws and regulations. Experience working with wine is a must, as well as a passion for creating cocktails and love of beer.<br>
