DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Ensure that the Child Development program in compliance with all regulatory requirements and standards, particularly those of Head Start, Early Head Start, state preschool programs, Title 5 and Title 22.

• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with and quickly gain the respect and support of various constituencies, including staff members, funders, internal and external partners
• A team builder with strong skills in management and leadership; must understand the subtleties of motivating and directing a diverse group of personalities;

ESSENTIAL SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:
• Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Social Work, or relevant field preferred
• Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Social Work, or relevant field AND 10 years of relevant experience
• A valid California Child Development Program Director permit
• At least 7-10 years of proven experience managing complex child development programs (State preschool, Early/ Head Start etc.) in a sophisticated organization and 3-5 years of extensive management experience motivating and developing a staff
• A track record as an effective communicator; highly skilled in writing and speaking; the ability to communicate the department’s mission and interests to varied audiences internally and externally
• Strategic planner who is adept at prioritizing, organizing and following through; able to balance multiple competing priorities; resourceful and flexible, ability to anticipate and act on events and opportunities quickly
• Straightforward and self-possessed; one who shares information readily, listens as well as gives advice and respects the abilities of others; diplomatic

Training and Certification

The New Teacher Project delivers services through several core lines of business. In the Training and Certification business line, TNTP designs and delivers certification programs for new teachers in partner states and school districts through our Practitioner Teacher Program (PTP) model. We specialize in developing alternate route teachers through our Teaching for Results Content Seminar Series, which is designed to maximize a new teacher’s effectiveness teaching specific subject matter through a standards-based approach to instructional planning. The Training and Certification business line operates state approved certification programs in Louisiana, Maryland, Texas, Rhode Island, the District of Columbia, and California and is preparing to expand its services to new states.

Role and Responsibilities

The Communications Manager will work closely with Partner, Site Launch and Development to support PTP expansion efforts by writing and editing proposals and resource materials for state education agencies and other key stakeholders. In addition, the Communications Manager will research and categorize state and national regulations around alternate route certification. The Communications Manager will work to ensure that goals and deadlines are met consistently and at a high level of quality. Specific responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

• Write Requests for Proposals, national and state approval applications, and marketing or other resource materials to support the registration and launch of the PTP in new states and new certification areas within existing programs
• Research complex national and state regulations and policies around alternate route certification providers.
• Develop a solid understanding of the business line’s programs and goals to ensure accurate and coherent representation within a wide variety of documents and materials.
• Proactively identify business line needs for additional proposal resources
• Communicate with staff in variety of roles within the business line and across the organization in order to incorporate their expertise and knowledge into documents and resources
• Provide additional support to sites with renewal and yearly reports
• Collaborate with members of the Communications team to ensure consistent messaging across all external communications
• Respond to programmatic and curricular standards

Perform a variety of highly responsible administrative and clerical duties in support of the Dean of the School of Law and other senior staff as needed.

• Act as liaison as needed on behalf of dean with other law school and university departments on special projects (i.e., ABA, WASC site visits, student services, law career services, alumni, etc.). Function as dean representative on law school committees as directed.
• Monitor and maintain approval records of all law faculty travel. Assist student organizations and other travelers as needed (i.e., environmental competitions, moot court competitions, etc.)
• Publish and keep current in collaboration with other university offices the law school directory information. Ensure national and regional law school related directories are kept current.
• Supervise the use of and maintain the Dean's Conference Room and related facilities.
• Recommend organizational and procedural changes affecting administrative activities.
• Provide dean's suite front desk coverage during breaks/as needed for administrative assistant.

QUALIFICATIONS


• Bachelor's degree required. Five to seven years of increasingly responsibility in office management within a non-profit or educational setting is ideal. Prior experience as an executive assistant is preferred. Experience in a university academic administrative environment is a plus.

• Effectively handle simultaneous projects and activities.
• Excellent administrative and organizational skills; ability to manage projects and events of various sizes from inception to completion.

Job Summary

The Director of Professional Services is responsible for the delivery of coaching, training, and consulting services that support the implementation of the New Tech High School Model at school sites across the nation.

• Assigns and manages school coaches to provide ongoing technical assistance to new and existing New Tech schools throughout the network of schools. This includes on-site services as well as remote/virtual coaching.

• Manages the professional services team on a daily basis through one-on-one and team meetings, assigning projects and initiatives, reviewing work products, and providing mentoring to members of the staff.

• Lead quality control for NTN’s professional services to assure that the New Tech Model is implemented with integrity and effectiveness. This includes:

Position Overview:

Your primary responsibility will be the educational development of your students. This includes educational assessment, curriculum planning and prep and doing focused one-on-one tutoring sessions. We are seeking feedback on the format, design, comprehensiveness of the product as well as the audio and video quality. We expect the usability test to last for about 45 minutes to an hour.

The Bay Area Teacher Training Institute was founded in 2002 and is affiliated with the San Francisco State University Elementary Education Department. We provide a way to gain paid teaching experience at a Bay Area private elementary school while taking a stimulating course of study over a two-year period. BATTI students take education credential classes two evenings a week while working as paid assistant teachers or interns available at one of 20 Bay Area private elementary schools beginning Fall 2010. These are mostly full time positions assisting the lead teacher in grades K-8. Other responsibilities during our program include teaching one morning a week in a public school and teaching in public summer school in the summer in between the two academic years. About Boys Moving Forward:
Boys Moving Forward is the boys-oriented piece of Moving Forwrad Education (which also consists of Girls Moving Forward). Boys Moving Forward, specifically, is a tutoring and mentoring service dedicated to creating gender specific learning environments that change the landscape of boys' education. Through small group tutoring with relevant young male mentors, our mission is to help boys and young men reach their potential both in school and in their lives, while creating positive communities for our youth. Position Summaries:
The Tutor is responsible for providing mentorship and academic coaching for small groups of students to enable youth with the tools to become confident, successful, and responsible citizens.

Schedule:

CDD2: This course expands upon the competencies developed in Architectural Detailing and Construction Documents and Details I. Content includes a comprehensive set of construction drawings. Students will produce a set of construction drawings for their Thesis Project.


Building Construction and Systems
22 hrs Lecture/22 Hrs Lab. This course studies the nature of mechanical equipment in reference to interior spaces. Electrical, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and plumbing are studied by examining the concepts and theories of indoor air quality, acoustics, lighting applications, and calculations. Sustainable “Green Design” concepts will be employed to determine the most environmentally sound solutions to mechanical and electrical systems. Prerequisite: Architectural Drafting

Positions are available beginning in January, but new classes start throughout the year.
The Art Institute teaches on a quarter system, with additional classes starting mid-quarter. Classes are offered from 4 to10 hours per week depending on the course, with sessions generally running 8-12 noon, 1-5 pm, 5:30-10:30 and 6-10pm.
