Job Description
• Work with a group of dedicated writers to create and update user documentation for Accela application software by reviewing requirements and design specifications, interviewing subject matter experts, and using the software.
• Maintain a customer perspective when creating, planning, and writing technical information.
• Suggest human interface and product design improvements.
• Develop application examples and scenarios as necessary for inclusion in technical documentation.
• Coordinate documentation projects with team members.
• Manage multiple documentation projects.
• Test online deliverables against product function.
• Consistently and effectively manage, communicate, and adhere to documentation deliverables for deadlines.
• Follow department style guide.
• Contribute to the development of department standards, including online help, templates, and style guide.
Required Qualifications
• Minimum of 4 years technical writing experience.
• Experience in the software industry preferred.
• Bachelors degree in English, communications, journalism, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Proactive in figuring out how software features work.
• Self-starter with ability to improve documentation process.
• Creative in analyzing audience and assessing their needs to deliver excellent technical documentation to software application users.
• Proficient in English grammar, usage, mechanics, and composition.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience with technical software applications.
• Skilled using help authoring tools.
• Confident using other daily tools such as MS Office suite, SalesForce, and Tortoise svn.
