The Chateau on Broadway in Concord, is a senior independent living community – with a difference. We believe seniors should have an active lifestyle in a setting that provides private apartments for quiet moments, an elegant dining experience, and supportive care. And, since a large part of an active lifestyle is the ability to get from place to place using a secure and reliable method of transportation, our Drivers are very important. Right now, we have an opening for a part-time driver who is flexible to work on weekends. The hours will be approximately 28 – 32, with the possibility of full-time.
If you are a creative, energetic person, we need you to help enrich the lives of our residents. As our activity driver, you will chaperone elderly residents and drive an auto, mini-van, or community bus to transport residents and visitors to and from outings, events, trips, errands, and appointments. When you’re not driving, you will be assisting in organizing and running our comprehensive activities program.
You will need to:
. Maintain excellent people skills and have the ability to engage seniors and encourage participation.
. Hold a Class B CA driver’s license.
. Possess a clean DMV record
. Pass the DOT physical & drug screen testing process
. Pass DOJ criminal background clearance process
. Maintain all appropriate vehicle logs before and after trips
. Clean the interior of the vehicle you use after an outing.
. Possess a first aid certification, which may be obtained after employment
. Lift or move equipment, assist residents into and out of vehicles, and aid them in getting around while you’re with them
