Shop Machinist (Journeyman)
Bay Ship & Yacht is a modern shipyard located in Alameda, CA on the waterfront of San Francisco Bay. We provide drydocking and repair services to most commercial and government vessels on the Bay, including tugboats, ferries, Coast Guard cutters, cruise ships, pilot boats, and yachts. The great variety of marine vessels drydocked at our shipyard provides challenging and interesting work for a range of craftsmen.
We are looking for an experienced, journeyman-level manual machinist. At Bay Ship, a Shop Machinist is expected to be an expert in manual machine operations including lathes (vertical & horizontal), mills (vertical & horizontal), and drill press. This is a skilled position requiring a full range of mechanical experience and knowledge in manual machine operations and blue print reading. Trade-level use of spoken and written English is expected.
