Job Title: Solar Thermal Manager
Reports to: Chief Operating Officer
Status: Exempt
We are a ‘green’ solar integrator and one of the fastest growing privately held companies in the Bay Area. Prime requirements for this job are a strong interest in renewable energy, sustainable living, making California less dependent on foreign oil and a passion for building great client relationships. This is a management level position. The Solar Thermal Manager will be responsible for managing the Solar Thermal Team which currently consists of 8 members. There is potential for the department to grow as our sales volume increases.
Operational Responsibilities:
- Business coordination with appropriate departments such as sales, accounting, engineering, warehouse dept, etc.
- Trouble shoot old systems
- Prepare estimates for swimming pools, hot tubs, radiant heating, etc.
- Coordinate ordering of parts with warehouse department
- Review PO’s, invoices, customer files, permits, and timesheets
- Prepare bids and estimates for complex projects
Managing Responsibilities:
- Supervision of daily and long term projects in commercial and residential
- Analysis and implementation of operational improvements
- Provide solar thermal training to the Sales and Engineering department
- Responsible for scheduling, planning and ordering materials, installing and repairing solar thermal systems
- Responsible for the Solar Thermal crews schedule
- Ability to manage the Solar Thermal Team and the Solar Thermal Repair Department
Qualifications:
- At least 5 years of experience in construction management capacity
- Specific experience in a senior position in a Solar Thermal capacity
- In-depth knowledge of plumbing
- Strong electrician background required
- Solar PV environment experience a big plus in understanding how the business works together with Solar Thermal
- Experience in handling diversified operational and financial aspects of solar energy projects
- In depth knowledge of pragmatic and well structured analytical skills
- Highly organized and ability to navigate quickly in a complex, fast paced environment
- Academic degree in a relevant field
- Full proficiency in MS Office tools and in using technology daily
