A very well established vocational school in Oakland (near airport) is seeking an externship coordiantor.
Role: The person responsible for creating and maintaining relationships with medical facilities for the purpose of placing students in externships/clinicals according to program. He or she ensures that students complete externship rotation successfully in order to graduate from the course. The Externship Coordinator is also responsible for making sure contracts between the school and medical facilities are current, student files are complete upon graduation, and that students are properly counseled on how to apply for necessary licenses or exams according to program
Responsibilities:
1. Travels to various medical facilities for the purpose of gaining new medical affiliates.
2. Contract with various medical facilities for the purpose of sending students to complete externship.
3. Maintain great working relationships with medical facilities.
4. Place students in externship according to department.
5. Track student externship paperwork using spreadsheets, record-keeping, etc.
6. Ensure student files are complete before releasing diploma.
7. Maintain up-to-date call logs for all contacted medical facilities.
8. Ensure all students are current financially before placing in externship.
9. Track compensation records for all medical facilities.
10. Ensure contracts with all medical facilities are current.
11. Advise students how to apply for necessary licenses or exams upon graduation according to department.
12. Works directly with directors and managers for the purpose of informing management of current clinical rotation flow, new medical affiliates, new externship procedures, etc.
Requirements:
1. Bachelors Degree
2. Reliable transportation
3. Computer knowldge.
