Mechanicnet Group, Inc. is currently seeking a Systems Administrator with 3+ years demonstrated experience in an Apache, mod-perl web environment.
Functions:
* Systems Administration, including strong knowledge of network routing, desktop and
enterprise firewalls, DHCP and DNS administration and mail servers in both linux &
windows environments
* Security Administration, including desktop, network, policy and physical access
enforcement for IT assets and applications
* Monitor system availability and performance; make recommendations to improve and
implement system wide changes to enhance overall system proficiency.
* Perform the proper back up of system and user data.
* Performs computer security compliance monitoring of systems. Review audit logs and
perform other security duties as assigned.
* Additional responsibilities may be assigned, as required by management.
Qualifications:
* 3 years of system administration experience
* Demonstrated experience in an Apache, mod-perl web environment
* Shell scripting skills
* Experience managing the network "core" services/protocols for an organization,
including DNS, DHCP, SSH, FTP/SFTP, SMTP, NTP, HTTP/HTTPS, etc.
* Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills and emphasis on the information
systems lifecycle, analysis and design.
* Working knowledge of effective system monitoring tools which promote proactive
response to faults and errors.
* Strong English speaking and writing skills
* Network experience a plus
Education and/or Experience:
* An undergraduate BA or BS (or international equivalent) degree is required.
* Personal organizational skills, self-reliance and determination, and proficiency
with a broad-range of technologies.
