We are a Fortune 500 company based in Pleasanton, CA. We currently have a full-time need for a Senior Systems Engineer III with a heavy focus in Active Directory architecture.
This person will be responsible for a 5000+ users AD environment with numerous global locations. This team is responsible for day-to-day operations of our Microsoft production environment, along with managing OCS, blackberry, and various other collaboration tools.

As a member of the systems engineering team, this position will:
• Provide the day-to-day maintenance and operation of the Active Directory environment.
• Provide daily maintenance, software and hardware upgrades and protect against hackers, virus, intrusion, or breaches to applications and operating systems.
• Optimize the enterprise directory services system.
• Design, develop, implement and ensure consistency, compatibilities and reliability of all directory services systems and application interfaces.
• Assist with the support and operation of DNS, LDAP, Meta and Virtual Directories.
• Create and maintain documentation as it relates to systems design, systems configuration, testing and evaluation, and network configuration.
• Work with project managers and business owners to determine business requirements for new system capabilities and take responsibility for service delivery aligned with requirements.
• Research system engineering products and services and determine applicability to RHI’s computing environments, creating recommendations for implementation.
• Architect complex business systems using mixture of standard and custom hardware and software to meet business needs.
• Lead process improvement efforts by providing constructive feedback, suggesting alternatives, and driving continuous process improvement.
• Create and implement a disaster recovery procedure for all Active Directory environments.
• Participate in primary on-call rotation supporting the Office of Data Center and Infrastructure and be available for after-hours and weekend support of critical servers as necessary

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Information Systems
• Current MCSE certification on Windows Server 2003/8
• Experience with installation, configuration, and maintenance of Microsoft systems
• 7+ years experience working in a large IT organization (100+ people) with a branch-based operation
• 5+ years Active Directory 2003/2008 experience
• 5+ years Windows Server 2003/2008 experience
• 2+ years project management experience in the creation and design of medium and large scale systems
• Experience supporting an Enterprise-level Active Directory environment including configuration, implementation, administration, and troubleshooting in a 1,000+ user environment distributed across multiple locations
• Expert in use of Microsoft operating systems, servers and clients
• Expert in VB and PowerShell Scripting
• Experience supporting VMware or virtual server environment
• Experience with PKI, DHCP, DNS, FRS, LDAP queries
• Expert in integration of related technology with business and computer systems
• Ability to setup and maintain an Active Directory forest
• Experience with implementing and applying technology control processes such as change management, availability management and production acceptance to improve service delivery
