Nonprofit public health research organization seeks part to full-time (20-40 hrs./wk) laboratory assistant to be part of a research unit conducting a variety of pregnancy-based epidemiologic studies. This position is located in Richmond, CA. Duties include pulling specimens from freezer storage, inventorying specimens using computerized tracking system, packing specimens for shipment, and other duties as necessary.
Requirements: H.S. diploma. Familiarity with data entry, high attention to detail and accuracy, flexibility, and good organizational and communication skills are needed. Ability to follow laboratory protocols and access to a car are required. Previous experience in specimen handling and working independently is desirable.
Salary is $13-$14/ hour, DOE. Excellent medical and vision benefits are provided. Flexible hours and casual work environment.
