The Awake Overnight Counselor assists in maintaining a positive treatment environment as part of a team within the residence. S/he ensures the safety and supervision of children during sleeping hours. S/he provides an appropriate adult role model for the children in dress, behavior, language and attitude. The Overnight Counselor is responsible for group and individual direction using limit setting and sound judgment, and provides care and supervision in all areas of living as necessary.

Responsibilities

• Provide supervision between the hours of 9 p.m. and 9 a.m., completing bed checks at least every 15 minutes.
• Complete household tasks such as housecleaning, laundry, and food preparation.
• Complete paperwork requested by supervisor, such as recording treatment notes, filing, and organization of daily logs.
• Supervise youth in completion of morning routines, implementing the behavioral system utilized in the residence.
• Participate in staff meetings.
• Maintain all necessary records -- medication chart, petty cash, clothing distribution, allowance distribution, etc.
• Complete incident reports when necessary.
• Assist youth in taking medication as needed.
• Additional duties that regard the care of children as assigned by the Supervisor or Director.
• Intervene with the clients behavioral modification program as needed. This includes physical management of the clients (implementation of Professional Assault Crisis Training) as necessary.

• BA/BS or Graduating College Senior
• Must be 21 years old or older
• Valid driver's license and automobile insurance
• Clean driving record
• Be insurable by Seneca Center's insurance company
• Clearance of TB test, physical exam, fingerprints and any other mandatory State/Federal requirements
• Ability to work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team

First shift

• Sunday 9pm - 9am
• Monday 9pm - 9am
• Tueday 9pm - 9am
• Wednesday 7pm-9pm

Second shift

• Wednesday 9pm - 9am
• Thursday 9pm - 9am
• Saturday 9pm - 9:15am

Compensation

• Salary $13.50/hr + shift differential
• 4 weeks paid time off
