Job Summary
The primary function of the Manufacturing Engineer is to provide support to all departments of the company. They possess a wide variety of skills that are called upon to address whatever tasks they are assigned.
Primary Job Functions:
• Handle high profile, time sensitive issues with little to no direction.
• Interface with both supplier and customer engineers for new applications and resolution of engineering related problems.
• Submit product enhancements and DFM (design for manufacturability) suggestions to customers and our production organization.
• Provide technical support to the sales, engineering, purchasing, manufacturing and quality organizations.
• Provide guidance regarding customer design specifications to best utilize manufacturing equipment and techniques.
• Introduce, recommend and design various manufacturing work methods, safety measures and labor organization (i.e.: assembly & test fixtures and methods etc.)
• Assess and recommend improvement in the techniques and equipment used in production processes to determine if they can operate more efficiently and safely.
• Plan and design systems that increase productivity by improving integration of people, materials, equipment, and safety.
• Provide ongoing sourcing of new and improved technology and techniques contributing to the automation of all operational processes.
Minimum Requirements
• BS Degree in an Engineering related field.
• 5 years in cable assembly-related industry.
• Experience with electro-mechanical assemblies
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Mechanical drawing skills using design software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks etc.
• Experience with Continuous Improvement, Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma concepts and tools.
• Reasonable mathematical skills.
• New Product Introduction and Design for Manufacturing(DFM) / Assembly.
• Excellent problems solving skills.
• Works well with all levels of employees.
