A major bakery manufacter in the East Bay is looking for a Production Supervisor to manage multiple locations. This postion will provide leadership, direction, organization of all production and warehouse staff; implement, monitor, and sustain process improvement in the assigned operations through the sound application of Lean Manufacturing principles and Sustainability practices.
Major Responsibilities:
>Oversee and provide leadership in all production-related activities to meet production targets; implement plans to use materials, labor, equipment, and other resources in a cost-effective way
>Document, analyze, and report production data to identify and communicate cost reduction and process improvement opportunities
>Partner with manager/supervisor of Quality Assurance, Purchasing, Sanitation, Maintenance and Customer Service to ensure of compliance to product safety/quality standards of the government and the company; actively participate in development and standardization of process procedures.
>Implement staff training and work safety programs; evaluate performance of all subordinates; counsel, discipline and support staff to drive continuous improvement in productivity, quality, cost control, customer satisfaction, cost control, and safety
>Daily review and analysis of production, warehouse reports and HACCP/GMP documents responsible by the department
>Provide on-going and timely feedback on performance, process deviation, deficiencies to direct reports and follow through with corrections.
>Daily walk through of the plant; team-work with other departments to resolve issues identified in the walk-through
>Other Responsibilities and tasks as assigned
Requirements/Skills
>Some College, but Bachelor degree from a four year college or university preferred
>3 years of management experience in manufacturing
>Excellent English; communication, reading, grammar, writing skills etc.
>Proficient in Microsoft office, word, excel, power point, etc. Internet savvy, excellent typing skills.
