The Purchasing Specialist assists Buyer in day-to-day purchases and inventory management.

Responsibilities

-Issues Purchase Order after analyzing Production Schedule, Inventory on-hand and vendor lead times. Proper distribution of necessary materials to all the locations within their requested time.
-Executes the purchase Order from start to finish by verifying exactness of Purchase order, reviewing and following up and completing the process from PO issue to receipt of materials as well as reconciling the invoices.
-Follows up with vendors on orders and other changes, communicates the changes to Warehouse or Production Departments instantly. Makes sure that Production has all the items they need to manufacture.
-Makes sure physical and system inventory are always in line. Working with Production and Warehouse team to ensure this achievement.
-Keeps close track of inventory on hand. Properly follows the ordering systems to avoid shortages, too much inventory situations, and to avoid LAST minute shipment costs.
-Reviews account discrepancies, creating & interpreting various reports, returns, short shipments, price mismatches between PO and invoices.
-Monthly reports on Excess and ageing inventory as well as Month End Inventory counts.
-Other responsibilities as assigned.

Minimum Education and Related Experience Requirements

-Some college but BA, BS preferred.
-2 years similar industry experience
-Experience with any ERP system preferred

Other Required Skills

-Must be able to speak and write English proficiently. Additional language skills preferred
-Proficient in Windows, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Basic typing skills and good math skills

Physical Requirements

-Must be able to perform work while sitting.
-Must be able to travel between sites infrequently.
