Busy, small law firm in Oakland seeks an experienced estate planning and trust administration paralegal. Dedicated, hard workers, who are willing to learn and grow are welcome.
REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum 2 years estate planning experience required. Alternatively, substantial paralegal experience in another field. We need someone who understands what it means to work in a small firm environment, and what it takes to gain the necessary competencies.
DUTIES INCLUDE:
• Prepare trusts, wills, durable powers of attorney, health care directives and trust transfer deeds
• Prepare trust administration documents
• Assist clients to fund their trusts or name beneficiaries
• Interface with clients to schedule meetings and obtain missing information
• Assist clients at signing appointments
• General secretarial/administrative functions such as copying and scanning documents
• Maintain (and improve) database and workflow sheets
CANDIDATE MUST HAVE THE FOLLOWING SKILLS/ASSETS:
• Plus if applicant has experience with estate planning software, WealthDocs and/or TimeMatters; familiarity with estate planning and probate court procedures
• Excellent organization, computer and word processing skills
• Outstanding attention to detail including superior ability to proofread and excellent grammar and spelling
• Ability to prioritize and handle the stress of a full work load
• Outstanding interpersonal/client skills
• Professional
