HOME MANAGEMENT COUNSELOR III

The City of Oakland is currently recruiting a Home Management Counselor III for the Community and Economic Development Agency. Working under the supervision of the Homeownership Programs Manager, you will work with a team committed to promoting home ownership in the City of Oakland. Duties include coordinating first time home buyer seminars, addressing predatory lending issues, preparing/analyzing reports, completing grant applications and underwriting loan applications.

Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance or a related field and 2 years of experience comparable to a Home Management Counselor II. An Associate's degree plus 2 additional years of experience can substitute for a Bachelor's. Must have knowledge of housing laws/regulations and commercial and government lending practices, as well as good public speaking, community relations, counseling, interpersonal, reporting and budgeting skills. A valid California driver's license is strongly preferred. Bilingual skills in Spanish, Cantonese, Mandarin or Vietnamese are desirable.
