The Alameda County Fair Association is a non-profit organization that manages the Alameda County Fairgrounds with over 3 million people in attendance at the many 300 events held each year. Home to the Annual Alameda County Fair and public and private events including large consumer and trade shows, festivals, corporate events, concerts, graduations, picnics, weddings and other social eventsPosition Summary:
The Event Decorator will manage all event set up and layouts for shows and events held at the Fairgrounds. This person will work with multiple event coordinators and promoters and their vendors to plan event from the beginning stages through event in regards to booth space layouts, pipe and drape orders, electrical needs, drayage, equipment rentals and all other decorating services offered at Fairgrounds.
The candidate should be able to manage work load, coordination and direction between multiple areas including Events, Accounting and Event Services (custodial and maintenance) Departments. The candidate must have an assertive type personality with the ability to handle all client/vendor questions and issues as well as internal communications.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Event Decorator Position
• Experience in large Trade Show or Event planning, set up and operations
• Knowledge of Microsoft Word/ Excel and Outlook
• Must have cad and layout software experience
• Experience in booth space layouts i.e. Pipe and Drape, electrical etc.
• Excellent customer skills
• Ability to work independently
• Basic accounting and money transactions
• Flexible work hours- must be able to work some weekends
- Compensation: Part Time $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
