SCI was founded to provide expertise in radar cross section (RCS) measurements with emphasis on radar systems, data reduction and analysis, algorithm development and field measurements.  Our product base includes short range zone imaging systems as well as longer range dynamic measurement systems.  Our R&D efforts continue to advance the state of the art in radar design and algorithm development to support SAR applications including ATR, GMTI, and other advanced concepts. Position Highlights<br>
<br>
This position reports to the Engineering Manager and will research, plan, and design mechanical, electro-mechanical, electronic and computer subsystems for use in new and existing radar systems, as well as direct and coordinate activities involved in fabrication, operation, application, installation, test and repair of these systems.<br>
<br>
This person will be expected to be creative with regard to improving the development process, yet be disciplined when performing routine and repetitive tasks.  We are looking for a versatile, motivated individual to grow with the company.  <br>
<br>
Responsibilities<br>
<br>
•	Responsible for the design, development, and testing of radar subsystems, to include both mechanical and electrical components.  Examples include motion control systems, image acquisition hardware, and computer interfaces.<br>
•	Document designs using mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and design calculations and/or simulations.<br>
•	Assist with the development and testing of design prototypes, to include the generation of test plans and procedures.<br>
•	Provide engineering support in the transfer of designs to manufacturing.<br>
<br>
Requirements<br>
<br>
•	5 – 7+ years experience in electronic and electro-mechanical systems and products.<br>
•	Strong grasp of mechanical engineering fundamentals such as statics, dynamics, and components<br>
•	Strong grasp of electrical engineering concepts such as voltage/current/power requirements and components<br>
•	Ability to understand design requirements and constraints, think conceptually, and know the appropriate use of CAD, abstract    modeling, engineering spreadsheets, and models needed to solve problems<br>
•	Experience in defining problems, collecting data, establishing facts and drawing valid conclusions.<br>
•	Familiarity with fasteners, fabrications, machining, welding, and other manufacturing methods<br>
•	Familiarity with current generation of computers and interfaces, to include Ethernet, RS-232, GPIB, USB, and SPI protocols.<br>
•	Excellent math and analytical skills.<br>
•	Strong team-working and communication skills.<br>
•	Fluent with MS Office products, to include Word, Excel, and Powerpoint<br>
•	Experience working with software configuration management tools a plus.<br>
•	Experience with using CAD software such as Autocad and Orcad a plus<br>
•	RF/Microwave experience a plus<br>

Education ----  BS in Engineering required as a minimum.<br>

The Automation Systems Division (ASD), located in Alameda, CA designs and manufactures distribution level voltage controller products to automate Electrical Utilities distribution systems. Controller products include microprocessor-based controls used in power distribution automation applications, including capacitor controls, source transfer controls, electronics fuses, switchgear controls, as well as patented peer-to-peer feeder restoration systems. In this position, you will report to the Manger-Electronics Hardware, ASD. The work associated with the position includes, but is not limited to, the following: <br>
Design in OrCAD, simulate, and troubleshoot analog power supplies: High voltage-high current systems, down to printed circuit power supplies. Must have proven track record of design and development with 600V/1000A/5kHz power supplies <br>
Power supply design and measurement experience: Buck, boost, buck-boost, flyback (and variants) topologies <br>
Knowledge of filter theory and operation of active and passive analog filters, crystal circuits, and analog circuit tuning<br>
Circuit analysis using MathCAD, Matlab Simulink, VisSim, and ICAP (Spice) <br>
Proficient with DMM, oscilloscope, network analyzer, signal generator, impedance analyzer, spectrum analyzer, data acquisition<br>
DFT_ Design for test. Track record of taking a product from prototype phase through manufacturing stability and cost reduction phases <br>
DFM- Design for manufacturing, including familiarity LabView systems, component engineering, and VALOR schematic analysis<br>
Write functional specifications, power supply test plans and design documentation<br>
Define systems-level product qualification testing, life testing, and in-process manufacturing inspection to ensure reliability requirements are met for life of the products<br>
First idea through post-manufacturing product support experience necessary. <br><br>

<i><b>Qualifications(at a minimum, you must have the following): </b></i> <br>
BS degree in Electrical Engineering required. Masters degree in Electrical Engineering preferred<br>
10+ years experience with analog and power circuits, and high voltage power supplies for industrial controls in the 600V-1000A- 5kHz range<br>
Working knowledge of analog and digital interface circuitry, isolation methods, transformer design, and filtering<br>
Ability to design and develop high voltage supplies to interface both with digital circuits and systems, including hybrid and multi-chip systems, for use in the electric power grid. Emissions and immunity knowledge, and design techniques for mitigation required<br>
Experience using high voltage bench and test equipment and procedures according to industry safety standards<br>
Experience writing test and measurement programs for initial power supply design prove-out, considering EMI/EMC<br>
Must be self-motivated, well-organized, and productive with minimal direct supervision, and able to work with cross-functional teams across multiple geographic locations. Ability to come up to speed quickly with designs already in progress required. <br>
Must be able to do accurate, repeatable analog test and measurement, organize and record data, and analyze it at a systems level<br>
Proven track record designing and building cost effective power supplies and power conversion equipment, preferably in the electric power utilities market<br>
Detail-oriented, organized, analytical, and flexible, hands-on engineer with knowledge of various manufacturing methods. Must be a subject matter expert on multi-discipline engineering projects and be able to quickly produce working prototypes during design phase<br>
Occasional travel may be required <br>
Excellent verbal and written communications skills, and must have ability to quickly write and revise project documentation. <br><br>

Mechanical Designer/Drafter – Contract Initially<br>
We are seeking a contract mechanical designer or mechanical design engineer with expert level SolidWorks skills and experience in both rapid R&D and production engineering environments. Primus will grow quickly in 2010 and this position will likely convert to full-time.<br>
Job Duties include:<br>
•	Create and maintain 3D CAD models of electromechanical components and assemblies<br>
•	Create and maintain 2D engineering drawings<br>
•	Maintain design data within PDM system<br>
•	Maintain standard file templates, components, and drawing title blocks<br>
•	Select and manage vendors to ensure designs are manufactured to requirements<br>
•	Manage BOMs and track costs, procurement status, delivery, etc.<br>
•	Perform physical integration tasks on test platforms and prototype hardware<br>
Candidate Requirements:<br>
•	4+ years experience designing electromechanical components and assemblies<br>
•	Demonstrated expert skill level in SolidWorks MCAD software, 3000 hours minimum <br>
o	Complex component modeling<br>
o	Complex assembly creation and editing: in context modeling, mates, configurations, managing file and feature references<br>
o	Mastery of use of configurations and file properties<br>
o	Experience working in a PDM controlled CAD environment<br>
•	Demonstrated ability to create quality 2D documentation (mechanical prints) to ANSI standards, including application of Y14.5M GD&T tolerancing methods<br>
•	Knowledge of common low volume manufacturing process capabilities (machining, welding, sheet metal fabrication, etc)<br>
•	Great interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to excel in team as well as individual work contexts<br>
•	High professional standards for work product quality and accuracy<br>
•	Expertise in design of components for high volume manufacturing a plus<br>

• Defines and quantifies VOC critical requirements for new business and engineering development. Including potential customer site visits to address product application opportunities, discuss customer needs; SDI product features, benefits and competitive advantages; quoting pricing; presenting product presentations and conducting and attending meetings. Must be able to travel min. 10% and up to 25% of the time.<br>
• Collaborates with the Director of Marketing & Sales and other staff personnel to define Strategic sales and marketing objectives for all SDI Products in line with overall Division goals.<br>

NATURE AND SCOPE:<br>

-	Review Job Quality Plans for conformance with the District Plan <br>
-	Tour District projects/jobsites and perform quality assessments to ensure adherence to Corporate Quality Standards <br>

-	Perform analysis of rework issues in the District to identify trends and develop job level training. Communicate findings to eliminate similar occurrences <br>
