Multimedia Tech Internship w/ Nonprofit (berkeley)

The Center for Transformative Change ( is searching for a technologically-savvy video architect. Our start-up aims to be on the cutting edge of bridging personal freedom with social, spiritual and environmental justice. The position asks for 7-10 hours per week of volunteer time as an internship through the end of the year. As per California law, we cannot guarantee a paid position upon completion of the internship.

AV Multimedia Architect Responsibilities
-use of online project management software (Teamwork) to interface with team and self-manage projects & responsibilities
-stay on top of burgeoning tech and multimedia strategies and concepts
-update content and images for our new website (need knowledge in website building)
-can work across multiple media and software platforms with various compatibilities
-create, update, and manage multimedia outlets (in consultation with Marketing Strategist)
-help shape long-term direction of multimedia outlets

Essential Skills & Traits
-MUST be Mac proficient (no exceptions)
-excellent communication and interpersonal skills
-excellent project and time management skills
-work well under pressure and meet deadlines
-ability to work independently and collaboratively
-are detail-oriented and able to step back & see the big picture
-high-energy tech lover and learner excited to join our startup
-interest in transforming websites into multimedia havens
-excitement to work on the front line of a social justice movement and change the world as we know it!

Not required but would be admired
-possess 2+ years experience in relevant field and multimedia expertise: instructional tech and design, database design, interface design, etc.
-desire to benefit from engagement in long-term personal practice that reveals self-limiting patterns towards availing yourself further to being an agent of social change
-have investment in social analysis of structures and systems of oppression
-stay on top of rapidly-changing trends
-follow any and all advancements in web technology
-take interest not only in changing yourself, but creating deep transformative change in the world.

Essential Software Experience
Final Cut Pro, Photoshop, iPhoto, Apple and other audio production software

Desired Software Experience
Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, Director, Aperture, Dreamweaver, Flash and Flash 3D Animator, Apple Pages, iMovie, Video encoding software

Who We Are
Transformative Change (XC) is a nonprofit that is dedicated to naming, framing, advancing and promoting Transformative Social Change: work at the intersection of personal inner awareness, organizational effectiveness and broad-based social change. We are the first and only national center entirely dedicated to bridging the inner and outer lives of social change agents, activists and allies to create a more effective, more sustainable social justice movement. By directly impacting the culture of movements for social justice, we are "changing the WAY change is done."

As AV Multimedia Architect, you will learn and work closely alongside a Personal Asst., Copyeditor, and incoming Marketing Intern forming a congruent team that works well together. We are largely self-managed, working in tandem primarily through Teamwork project mgmt. software to hold accountability. If you can see yourself leading multimedia and AV production, setting the pace for rapid dispersal of intricate media projects, come create with us! Your duties will mainly consist of media implementation, disseminating materials ins various media (primarily video and audio) developed by Rev. angel over the last 10 years for non-profit use to be delivered via internet, webinar and/or live train-the-trainer vehicles. We operate under an abiding principle that it is possible for a small team of creative, grounded individuals, working collaboratively, at the center of and within the larger field of Transformative Social Change, to effectively change the world.
