The Insurance Analyst III position is an opportunity to develop, monitor and update all predictive scoring models and insurance segmentation models used within Insurance Product Management which are key to the enterprise segmentation model. This position will also work with other functional areas to develop quality standards, strategy tactics and systems for monitoring performance for all insurance transactions. Developing and presenting recommendations to management and other members of Insurance Product Management will also be a large part of this role.
Main Responsibilities:
•Works independently to provide analytical and research support to answer business questions.
•Investigates and documents business process.
•Designs automated and manual audit reporting for Insurance Operations.
•Analyzes and writes reports on operational audits.
•Performs complex financial and statistical analysis of the entire insurance book of business including all lines of insurance.
•Analyzes business trends to anticipate changes in financial results, determining underlying causes and possible actions to remedy/prevent poor performance.
•Develops performance measurements and scorecards to ensure company goals are on track.
•Writes reports that explain and communicate findings and results.
Required:
•Knowledge of principles, processes and tools for analyzing and manipulating large sets of data.
•Superior analytical and problem solving skills
•Must be comfortable making recommendations laterally and vertically.
•5+ years of experience in data mining, relational database design and development, or object-oriented programming principles. years experience reporting financial data.
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
•Exemplary interpersonal skills.
•Advanced skills in Excel, Word, Access and SAS or SQL.
Preferred:
•BA/BS degree in mathematics, business, statistics, economics, computer science or equivalent experience.
•MBA/Masters degree in related field.
•CPCU designation Proficiency in TSO, Visual Basic, COBOL, Easytrieve and various structured analysis and design techniques.
