They are all Rubars brand custom sizes, nice wood, well constructed, all are 1 3/4" deep. 2 @ 34 X 30 inches, 8 @ 24 X 24 inches, 4 @ 22 X 19 inches, 2 @ 20 X 20 inches, 1 @ 18 X 18 inches. All 1 3/4" deep. Almost all the previous canvas is removed, except for some sides. I'm working on larger canvases now won't be using these. All very clean. $300 for all seventeen. Writing about your experiences there, or about the Obama movement, or maybe even just about his message or what it inspires. I am interested in the movement's affect on everyday people, and how it inspired many of us to get involved, who had never been a part of politics before. Why? What does that mean? you get the idea. Could be a short essay, or poem, etc. Could be direct, or more abstract.

This is not paid, but you would of course be credited in the book, next to your writing. I am self-publishing the book now, but hope to make something more happen with it.

Beginning Pottery: This introductory course is great for anyone who wants to dive right into clay. We will teach you the basics and we'll have tons of fun forming and shaping clay and making incredible objects. No previous experience necessary. Class fees cover glazing, firing, and studio use. Clay costs $12.12 for 25 lbs. of cone 6 stoneware. Individual pottery tools and beginner's tool kits ($17.00 including tax) are available for purchase at the Art Studio. Students should come to the first class with cash or check prepared to buy both tools and clay.

Continuing Pottery: This class is recommended for any one who has completed a beginning pottery class or beyond, and would like to learn new techniques as well as improve the basic skills learned in a beginning course. This course is designed to give the student a more in-depth knowledge of all the techniques used when working with clay. Teapots, taller forms, use of hand building tools such as the slab roller and extruder, and more advanced surface decoration (glazes, slips, etc) are some of the topics we will cover in this class. Students with specific projects in mind are encouraged to take this class.

For anyone who has ever attempted to photograph a wide variety of clothing with just one or two mannequins, you know what a time consuming process this can be. There is now an alternative that is not only more economical but more efficient. This is cheaper than buying mannequins - which can be costly especially if you need a range of mannequins such as male, female, children in a range of sizes. Plus you don't have to store or maintain the mannequin. It is also more convenient than renting a multiple mannequins and having to haul them back and forth. Lastly it is more productive as one person can dress/prep a mannequin while the other person is photographing a mannequin.

Having access to a wide variety of mannequins also means you can choose whatever mannequin best showcases your product, instead of having to make do with whatever mannequin you can afford. You can choose to use headless mannequins for some clothing styles and realistic mannequins with faces for other clothing styles.

The ASUC Art Studio is a public arts program of U.C. Berkeley. You do not have to be a U.C. Berkeley student to enroll,
We offer classes in ceramics, photography, drawing, painting, sewing, and much more.

Once enrolled in a ceramics course, students have access to the studio 7 days a week for that session. This does not include one or two day workshops.

Handbuilding and Figure Sculpting:
Learn ceramic hand-building methods to make functional works of art and sophisticated, small-scale sculptures. We will begin with basic building techniques - coil, slab, and pinch methods - to create simple, functional, and sculptural forms. We'll then move to more complex assemblies and finish with texture, design, and glaze to enhance the surface of the work. Projects and demonstrations will be a catalyst for our individual and creative expression. Students may choose to work in a realistic or more abstract style depending on their interests. All levels welcome! The instructor can work with more advanced students to develop their skills and personal vision.
Clay and pottery tool kits are available for purchase at the Art Studio. Students should come to the first class with cash or check prepared to buy both tools and clay.

Handbuilding and Figure Sculpting- Anna Vaughn

Raku: Raku is a quick and exciting way to decorate decorative pottery and ceramic sculpture. Glazed ware heated to red-hot is taken from the kiln and placed in cans with newspaper or sawdust and smoked from the resulting fire. The results include beautiful crackle glazes and shiny lusters. We will learn the history of this technique, experiment in making forms that are best suited to the technique, learn how to get widely varied results from the same glaze, and find alternate firing methods using the Raku kiln.

If you know an artist who has to do community service to fulfill a court assignment, our nonprofit can utilize the skills of someone who can do some painting. Playland-Not-at-the-Beach is a 501-c3 nonprofit Museum of Fun. As you might imagine, somethings some of our signs or cabinets gets chipped or scratched. In particular we have some old woodrail pinball machines that need a fresh coat of paint to touch up the original designs. We also have some carnival games that could use a simple sign with instructions. This work can be done 7 days a week, but we prefer Monday through Friday between 9:30 AM and 5:00 PM.

Learn the time-honored secrets of Venetian and American style glassblowing in
the heart of Berkeley�s artistic community.... The Revere Glass School is focused on the classical traditions of Murano and American styles, and is now teaching a wide variety of classes for all types of students. Located in the historic Sawtooth, just a few blocks from the 580 and 80 Freeways, Revere Glass now offers opportunities for anyone who has ever considered delving into the magical world of glass. Classes are on-site and are offered in both one to one and group lessons. The studio is a non-competitive social atmosphere where students feel comfortable and encouraged by their surroundings and with their various and constantly progressing skill levels.

Beginners- Emphasis will be placed on learning the basic skills necessary to handle the torch. Class time will be divided between demonstrations and supervised work time, with individual attention for each student. No glass working experience is required and newcomers are strongly encouraged.

Intermediate- Students build confidence by improving gathering, blowing, and coloring skills while working with high end materials such as dichroic (�di-cro�) glass.

Advanced- These courses are intended for serious glassblowers with at least 2 years experience. Students will be able to display highly developed style and technical ability. Focus is on specialty techniques like Murrini, wigwags, inside out, thick glass, heady glass, Dichroic, Zanfirico, Ratichello and Goblets.

Dustin Revere brings the traditional styles of original Italian history to new age frontiers. Trailblazing through Italy along his way to Oakland California, Dustin Revere has studied under some of the most respected glass makers of the last century. Starting at the age of 18 with Randy Strong in Northern California, then moving to an apprenticeship in Murano under maestro Cesare Toffolo, maestro Luccio Bubacco and renowned Italian maestro Gianni Toso in Baltimore. Dustin has also studied with American legends, Roger Parramore in North Carolina and Paul Stankard in New Jersey. In 2006 he and wife Rita opened Revere Glass School, to share the knowledge of this ancient and magical craft. Dave Strobel has been blowing glass since 1991. He started with soft glass hotshop work for a year, then moved into borosilicate scientific fabrication and repair for a few years, moving into boro artglass exclusively in 1995. The past ten years have been spent with a very high emphasis on boro murrini; both making and using them. He now lives in the SF Bay area making boro murrini for distributors, businesses, and artists. He also has an extensive line of paperweights, tiles, and marbles. In 2008 Dave was welcomed as a part owner of Revere Glass and is currently a staff teacher there.

I'm looking for an intelligent/attractive woman (to bring appeal to the production), with the ability to read lines dramatically (off of the pad of the journalist she will be playing) or better yet, remember them. I will be playing the part of the interviewee (a writer) who will answer your questions in a theatrical manner and do all I can to capture the interest of an audience that is used to plots and story lines. You do not need to be a professional actress, but you do need some experience in remembering lines and making them believable. The progressive bit has to do with the content of the piece, that you have your own progressive purposes and more than just a theatrical interest in it. The writer bit is to establish that you have somethings to say yourself (and therefore can empathize with the interviewee) and that you have your own thoughts on the topics spoken of and can express them succinctly. The stronger you are in this role the better. The drama will be greatly helped by the pressure you put on the interviewee.

As this effort is experimental, we will have to do a good job on it if it is to be staged, or filmed.

Artists & Photographers! - Print your work digitally - Inexpensively! (oakland west)

Dear artist or photographer,

Create inexpensive superb, long lasting digital prints (giclees) of your art, your photographs or your designs - on canvas, fine papers or other materials. Brilliantly extend the visibility and salability of your work at low cost. This is an important step in the printmaking of your art.

I am an artist, located in Oakland near 580 and 880, and am working hard to make digital printing affordable for other artists, photographers and designers. Using an Epson 9800 wide format printer you can create archival fine art quality prints, up to 44� x nearly unlimited length on canvas, fine art or fine photographic papers, that can last 100 years. Other materials such as thick posterboard, vinyl, silk and even gold, silver and aluminum can be printed on with the 9800.

Costs are rock bottom. My prices are radically lower than Service Bureaus which may charge $100 - 200 just to sit down at their computer, plus $14 - $30 per square foot to print. My service is designed to give you the same fine art quality but at much lower cost to you!

I charge no set up fee, if your digital files are ready to print. Printing is only $6.75 - $10.00 per square foot on fine art quality paper, or $8.75 - $9.75 for archival canvas. This is a fraction of what service bureaus and even Kinko's would charge you.

For example, if you bring an image of an artwork or photo you would like to print on canvas, or paper, and it is ready to print at 16 x 20", you could print this on canvas - for just $21.00! Even less if printed on some of the excellent but less expensive archival papers. Mention you found me on CL and receive 10% off our first project.

I can photograph, scan, color correct, edit, sharpen, format and digitize your images for printing or web, using a Nikon D200 SLR digital camera, or scanner, if you like help getting your art ready for printing. All at very low cost.

I also expertly stretch your printed canvases onto wooden stretcher bars. You pay only for the actual time spent, usually only $10-25 or so, plus materials. I provide very personal and inexpensive service and I enjoy and highly value working with artists, photographers, designers or anyone interested in printing digitally. Stretching your canvas print is much less expensive than custom framing it.

You can then print inexpensively as many prints - or as few - as you like. No forced runs of entire expensive editions. Using archival Ultrachrome pigmented inks and archival canvases and papers, the results can last a century!

It is entirely possible to extend your work further, or make more money from editions of your prints than from your original work. I'd be glad to talk with you. Request a sample packet and contact me any time. I look forward to hearing from you. Thanks much for your time and consideration.

Stephen C. Wagner is a successful professional artist, educator, and motivational speaker. He brings years of valuable and comprehensive experience to audiences of all ages with clear and concise recommendations, informative examples from real life, and a high level of energy and enthusiasm that is both inspiring and contagious. Stephen was the Program Development Coordinator for the San Diego Art Institute, has been a consultant for the San Diego Children's Museum, and was on the Board of Directors for Arteach in Palm Desert. Stephen has completed the Lincoln Center Institute for the Arts in Education training program in Aesthetic Education through the McCallum Theatre Education Institute in Palm Desert, CA. His many activities and interests have earned him inclusion in Who�s Who in America (2000), Who�s Who in the Midwest (1998), and the Outstanding Young Men in America Award (1983).
As an artist, Stephen C. Wagner works in many media, including paint on glass, multi-media collage, and book-binding. Having studied art since the age of six, his art education includes workshops at the Witte Museum, Trinity University, and private study, all in San Antonio, TX. During his early years, Stephen showed his works in many venues, including juried shows, art fairs, coffeehouses, and galleries. He obtained his Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Texas at Arlington in painting and graphic communication. Stephen has exhibited and sold his artwork in galleries in London, Chicago, Dallas, San Francisco, Beverly Hills, Santa Monica, Laguna Beach, San Diego, Seattle, New Orleans, Palm Springs, and Kauai. His artwork is included in the permanent collections of the Riverside Art Museum and the Museum of the Living Artist, and in the corporate collections of Johnson & Johnson and Kaiser Permanente. His artwork has been featured in the film "Antwone Fisher" directed by Denzel Washington, and was featured on the set of the Bravo TV show "Boy Meets Boy."

The Red Door Gallery and Collective presents, � Insights of Life from the Shadows of Death� an exhibition focusing on the past, present and future of art for human rights and art against violence. Join us as we bring the community together in one space in hopes of shedding light on human rights issues and the cause and effect of violence on our streets, in our community and around the world. There are several perspectives surrounding these issues and we hope to cover as many of them as possible. What can art do for humanity? Has art helped you heal? What are the new visual symbols of non-violence? Art is not only a powerful healing tool for those who suffer from the ripples of violence and death, but can be used pro-actively to spread visual imagery of a non-violent future.

Boudeeka's haunting accurate portrayal of Janis Joplin is a tribute to women in rock and the raw emotion that was so much a part of the scene. Carlton Poward is an almost frightening replica with his spot-on Jimi Hendrix characterization and inspired guitar playing.

Antares is now accepting submissions by mail.

GUIDELINES:

1. This contest accepts only plays in the English language, yet submissions are accepted worldwide.

2. Submissions must be original, unpublished full-length plays written in English. Translations, musicals, and children's plays are not accepted.

3. Plays that have had professional or amateur productions are not eligible.

4. Two copies of the manuscript must begin with a title page showing the play's title and your name, address, telephone number, e-mail address, and page count; a second title page which lists the title of the play only; a list of characters; a list of acts and scenes; and (if applicable) a list of acknowledgments.

5. Plays must be typed/word-processed, numbered and in standard professional play format.

6. A brief biography may be included at the end of the manuscript, but is not required.

7. Playwrights may submit up to two different plays for consideration.

8. By submitting the manuscript to the ANTARES NEW PLAY CONTEST, Playwright agrees that Antares Ensemble will have exclusive rights to produce the winning play and/or a reading of the play during the year 2010.

He was super nice and easy to work with, got my job done really fast, and produced a high-quality 22 x 17 print on canvas--which he also stretched, varnished, and wired for hanging-- for under $90.

5'7", brown-haired, blue-eyed, and curvy. My measurements are 39"-28"-39", and I have a somewhat muscular figure. I can work comfortably nude or clothed, and I pose for both photographers and traditional artists.

My rates are $20/hr for traditional art (drawing/painting/sculpture/whatever) for 3 or more hours, and $50/hr for photography for 2-4 hours. If you prefer to work for longer or shorter periods of time, let me know and we can figure out a more customized rate. I am located in Berkeley, but can work anywhere in the Bay Area that is reachable by public transportation.
