<description><![CDATA[Spacious and airy 2-bedroom apartment in an unusual 4-unit complex. It’s distinctly not your average suburban boxy apartment building. If you enjoy the look of a “Berkeley brown shingle” house, or maybe a tipi or a geodesic dome – this is a blend of those: It’s two nearly-circular duplexes joined together by a narrow “wasp waist”. There is traffic on one side, but separated from you by a small hill and some fine oak trees. On the other side are a lot more trees and a long slope with a creek at the bottom.. Each unit has a generous deck that looks out into that woodsy area. Standing on an upstairs deck – this is an upstairs unit – you can look into the trees at squirrel’s-eye-level. <br>

El Sobrante, in case you were wondering, is a rather loosely defined place hanging between Pinole, Richmond, and Wildcat Canyon Regional Park. It’s not really a city, but you can get there from here, via I-80 or Highway 24 (through Orinda). <br>
<br>
New carpet, kitchen appliances, paint, etc. Downstairs neighbors are quiet. Each unit has an assigned, covered parking space, plus extra unassigned space for visitors. Each also has a full-height, lockable storage closet at ground level. There is a coin-operated laundry downstairs, and the landlord pays for water and trash collection, as usual.<br>
<br>
Rent is $1500 a month. The two upstairs units are both available right now, and, for comparison, they are each 2 bedrooms, 1 bath, and 1024 square feet, not counting the deck.<br>
