Resources for Community Development in Berkeley is seeking qualified candidates for the Bookkeeper position. This is a temporary position.
Major Job Responsibilities and Duties
A. Weekly:
1. Process & mail checks. Maintain check registers.
2. Update cash position schedule & Cowell worksheet.
B. Monthly:
1. Process bank reconciliations and reconcile cash to General Ledger.
2. Collect and track insurance payments.
3. Update restricted cash schedules.
4. Backup accounting database.
5. File Report of Independent Contractors with EDD.
C. Annually:
1. Prepare 1099’s.
2. Process Business License applications.
D. As needed:
1. Process deposits.
2. Update accounts payable, receivable and other worksheets.
3. Interact with banks to set up and close accounts, change signature cards, etc.
4. Perform other administrative/bookkeeping duties as required.
Education/Experience
The successful candidate will be highly organized and detail-oriented with good follow-up abilities. Must be very familiar with accounting principles and have good communication skills. Must be able to prioritize and keep track of multiple tasks in busy, fast-paced office. Strong computer skills necessary: Microsoft Word, Excel and accounting software (Accpac preferred).
