If you're thinking of sailing outside the gate, it is worth comparing the Westsail 32's capsize ratio (1.62) and motion comfort ratio (43.6) to other boats you are considering with Carl's Sail Calculator. The Westsail may not be great for racing (unless you're going to Hawaii) but it is good for learning to sail offshore, and for those 30kt afternoons on the Bay in July.

She is located in the Berkeley Marina. The Berkeley Marina has said that, while the slip isn't technically "transferrable" (i.e., they're not contractually obligated to transfer it), they usually don't have an objection to transferring to a new owner.
