I am a photographer in Napa who is looking to update my portfolio of food photography. This is a field I hope to become 100% involved in in the near future, and I need a partner in this endeavor.

I'm hoping to find people who are trying to build their own portfolio of dishes for personal chef businesses, local restaurants, etc. Anything where you cook and I shoot! I have done this once before with a winery chef and it worked out quite well.

After the shoot, I will do all of the post-producton work and the images are yours to use. I will retain all rights and can use them in stock photography etc, however on my website I will credit you with your creation. I want this to be mutually beneficial! I can't cook and need your help!

the head of the publicity/marketing dept at KUSF, a volunteer-run noncommerical radio station, seeks artists to help create visual materials for the station. materials include print & web ads, flyers/posters, cdr zines, and quite possibly buttons and t-shirts. the station broadcasts primarily musical programming, representing an eclectic range of genres. tune in to 90.3 fm to hear for yourself.

i'm looking for artists who create thoughtful, yet by no means slick, work. an appreciation of the quirky, the obsessive, the low tech, or the avant-garde would be fab. lisa frank fans are also acceptable.

For as the falling leaves of autumn decay upon the forest floor, they in turn serve as the basis for the re-emergence of life in the Spring, in the endless cycle of the seasons. All things decay and come to an end, but every end brings the possibility of new beginnings.

Hey there,

I guess I don't have a right to post in the "creative gigs" section, since one guy decided to flag anything on there unless it's a paid job - putting his personal agenda before other people's rights. Great. (For the record, CL gigs can be paid or unpaid).

That said, I'm looking for someone who wants to do storyboards for free.

That is, someone who can afford to do unpaid work and wants to be involved with a local indie feature, and/or someone looking to get experience doing storyboards and/or learn more about that aspect of the filmmaking process.

I would love to be able to pay, but we simply don't have the money. If we can't find someone interested in working in exchange for food, copy and credit, I will do the storyboards myself (although I can barely draw). Please understand that we completely value your work - we just don't have the budget for it. Period. This is low, low-budget filmmaking.

So, if you're still reading, and are interested in collaborating with a female director getting ready to shoot a feature [in August] about young queer women of color - please write me ASAP. We are locking some main locations this week, so we can start storyboarding as early as July 11. All storyboards will need to be completed sometime around July 27.

I've tried exploring the website and I am still utterly lost. Does anyone know how to navigate it? Do I now have to join and pay a fee in order to see Film Job Positions?

If so, I welcome any suggestions of how to find a job in the Film Industry here, other than the reel directory or craigslist, because I used to rely on BAVC...

�Shamanic Inspirations�, a solo installation by emerging artist Charles Kruger, will be presented at The Marsh Theater Cafe/Gallery, 1070 Valencia Street, from July 15 through August 31. An artist�s reception will be held on Wednesday, July 23, from 6 to 8 p.m.

Mr. Kruger, an oblate of Incarnation Benedictine Monastery in Berkeley, utilizes shamanic practice and meditation in creating both large and small canvasses depicting interior landscapes and spirit helpers. He is a schoolteacher, actor and published poet who began painting shortly after his 50th birthday and has since created a dynamic body of work in an expressionistic style. He is a member of The Art Explosion studios where he has participated in Open Studios for the past two years. "Shamanic Inspirations" is his first solo show.

Ongoing drop-in improv class at Fort Mason every Saturday from 1-4pm.

Fee (per class): $10.

The class takes place in Bldg C, usually Room #230. Check the board outside the entrance to Bldg C to see which room the class will be in.

This class was taught by Jim Cranna for 25 yrs, and one of his students Grace Sargent took over when Jim stepped down a couple of years ago.

It's a really fun class and a very welcoming group. It's not clique-y. Newcomers are always welcome. If you come to class, you have to participate. Sorry, no voyeurs! The class is made up of comics, actors, improvisers, and just generally people who like to play. The laugh quotient is high! All ages welcome.
